PROJECT S203

So some of you may know me, some may not, but my names Will and im local to Sac. I had a 13 second 03 WRX (13.59...still a 13 second WRX), but just recently sold it so that i could get a more reliable car for when i go off to College. I ended up buying a 2005 STI from Carmax and i absolutly love it. I can not do much to the motor because i can not void the warranty, but i wanted to do something because i love working on my car and making it unique.

There was a thread on i-club that i posted and we got on the topic of me wanting to make my car unique. And a guy responded to me by saying, "You cant really make your STI unique because everyone with a STI has done it or has it." I put some good long thought into this and started a few wanted threads of crapy ideas that faded out but now i have finally come to the conclusion of what i want to do, something that i have never really seen all that much....i want to build a replica S203.

I thought it would be a cool look since no one has really been able to do so. No i wont convert it to right hand drive, or get the S203 seats, or the turbo, becuase quite frankly you cant and my wallet isnt that deep! But i will do as much as i can and add a bit of my own taste to the suspension, and such. I thought it would be cool to share it all with the locals of my area since it is something we dont see everyday and everyone else on the locals. THE BEGINNING

This is my 2005 OBP STI that i purchased from CarMax. It has 7000 miles on it and is completely stock but fully loaded with short shifter, gauge pack, armrest extension, so on. It is going to be stripped of many parts and replaced with many parts, trying day by day to get more and more JDM, and closer and closer to a S203.







S203 STURT BAR
I wanted to tackle this project with a series of phases (suspension, exterior, interior) so i had somewhat of a logical way to go about doing this. but then i realized that i would randomly find parts i needed that didnt fit into the phase i was currently doing, and its not like i was going to pass up the part just because its not in the phase i was doing.

In light of that this project might seem a bit jumpy and have random parts bought and installed at random times but its just because i find these parts randomly.

As stated in the recent post the dash trim is still on its way, and the shift trim and boot was just ordered. I think i am either going to tackle the trunk and wing, or get the lateral links, trailing arms, and sway bar.

S203 Hazard Button
So this hazard button was supposed to come with the dash trim but....yeah dont know what happened to the dash trim so i am kind of worrried. I emailed the people i bought it from and am hoping for a response today.

Nothing to crazy but i thought i would bump the post so here is the S203 hazard button.

jk! lol, we've all put something "jdm" on our car at one time or another, and we cant help it either if the usdm junk doesnt look as good as the jdm stuff.

Hey lovely ride, it looks like mine. I've had some friends of mine who tried to get S203 Badges for me overseas, and their still having a hard time getting them. Let me know where you find them! Thanks brotha!

 

Yeah, you seriously can not do it. You can only get the parts from japanese dealerships, and you have to have a title that says S203 on it and physically show them. My latest way to try and get them is to get people with S203s to get them for me. So i am getting closer and closer everyday, sooner or later i will get lucky.
