Hmm...

Well... first of all... the engine isn't really built for a turbocharger. You can certainly put it on, but just know that you'll only be able to safely boost 5 or 6 psi's. Some say you can go further, but yeah... As for EMS, you have several options. Link ECU, EcuTek, Hydra, and I am sure there are a few other piggy-back options. I couldn't really tell you what to get, because I don't really know much about EMS'es anyways. As for tricks for pulling more poer out of an NA, can't say there are many. Lightweight pulley? Quality spark plugs and wires? Clean air filter? Yeah... you can also try different cams. Get your cams regrinded. Good luck.

I know there are two companies down in SoCal that specialize in Subaru Motors for Sandrails.

http://www.outfrontmotorsports.com

and

http://www.cgperformance.com/

both a little pricey but I am sure you can pick their brains as far as tinkering with your set up. Outfrontmotorsports sells JDM motor cores for 1 - 2k.

They have a lot of knowledge with setting those motors up in rails.

Hope that helps!
