and that the WRC car can last longer than that (3 days he said... i dun believe that).

that's just what he told me. i would like to believe it, b/c i love subaru's and once you go catless... i believe subaru's can do anything

but i won't completely admit it... cuz ya'll might flame me... ; )
With total immersion, you have a ton of problems. First and foremost, you are going to lose all the oil out of the oil pan and contaminate it badly. Second, the battery isn't happy being wet at all -- batteries are cheap to replace, but not if they leak acid all over the engine compartment. Third, you have water in the intake (perhaps all the way to the manifold) and that will kill sensors and cause rust/corrosion on any bare metal surface. You can definitely recover the car and get it working again, but it would cost exponentially more money the longer that the car had been down there. The real issue is, did he turn off the car before it began to ingest water? That might make all the difference. Heck, if the turbo was hot enough when the cold water hit it, you might check it for cracks and leaks as well...

A little tip for all of you -- if your car ever rolls over, TURN OFF THE ENGINE FAST. An upside-down car will lose all oil pressure in about 30 seconds and your engine will be running on bare metal; coolant systems are also gravity-fed and they will fail as well. I saw that on a Discovery Channel special about surviving extreme conditions
