I believe I heard it, it was something about ice drifting or ice racing and that guy went into a thin ice area. Correct me if I am wrong, I may be thinking of another picture.

They must've been joyriding and hit a thin part.

I dunno why they went through such trouble to get it out. They COULD have just used the Force.

I'd be interested to know if they managed to get the car working again, and how. Very few cars can survive a total immersion, especially if they were running at the time. Water being sucked into the intake and electrical is the LEAST of the problems...

Yeah. Those are the kind of questions I had. Did the car fall through quick or did the driver have time
to bail out? Did the car ever run again? I wonder how fast the car would fill up with water if all the
windows are up? Looking at the photos the water must not have been that deep.

a DEALER told me that the STi can still work after being immeresed for 3 hours or something like that.

and that the WRC car can last longer than that (3 days he said... i dun believe that).

that's just what he told me. i would like to believe it, b/c i love subaru's and once you go catless... i believe subaru's can do anything

but i won't completely admit it... cuz ya'll might flame me... ; )

Well you have a good outlook, but cars that go under water have just about 4 foot intake and exhaust pipes hanging above the car so that they can breathe. But hey. . .

Any STi owners want to hit South Lake Tahoe this weekend ? That is the real test. . . .
