Hey all,

Just wanted to post a pic of my 02 with bronze stockers on.

Let me know what you think!

The paint is duplicolor bronze.

I think it was like 8 dollars a can x 2 cans.

Looks nice! Did you spray them with the tires on? How'd you prep them? Also, do you have any close-up shots?

Yep, I left the tires on.

I have a close up picture here, but it is from an odd angle.

1). Take wheels off car.
2). Cleaned the rims with soap and water, then with simple green. Then rinsed.
3). Next, I wet sanded with 400 grit sand paper.
4). When all the shine from the clear coat was off, I cleaned the rims with some isopropyl alchohol.
5). I then masked off the valve stems and tucked some envelopes between the rim and the tire.
6). The next step was to coat the rims with 3 coats of self etching primer.
7). After the primer, I then coated the rims with 4 coats of the duplicolor bronze.
8). Next, was 4 coats of duplicolor clearcoat.

BTW, with the exception of the self etching primer, I left 10 minutes between re-coating for the paint and clear coat.

Let cool then serve.

I was looking to paint my rs wheels this same color but I thought it'd turn out lighter...I'm probably just better off trading my stockers to someone else with bronze stockers lol

Bronze and sedona red go great together.

Does anyone know of another color bronze that I could use. I'm also looking for a lighter color bronze to pain my wheels with.

last time i went looking for paint for my rims (on my old civic that is), i found an "Antique Bronze" shade from Rustoleum, but that's the only other bronze i ever saw. it's quite a bit cheaper than the Duplicolor, and should last just as well. don't remember what the color looked like exactly though, that was a couple years ago.
