Talking My new 2.5i

I just registered here and thought my first post should be a picture of my car.. A regal blue 2006 Impreza 2.5i. It's totally stock and will remain that way for a while.. The car payments and gas is all I can afford for now.

I have done bodywork for a Subaru dealership for several years now so I have driven lots of them and I respect them a lot. I'm now close to graduating from a tech school to be a technician and I hope to work for same dealership in the service department..

I love my new Impreza it is a lot of fun to drive and I love the AWD.. I can't wait until winter.

I was out playing on some back roads so my car is a bit dirty... Which is the way I like it.. Too hard to keep clean anyway.

When I get the funds... The first thing I will do is upgrade the brakes... They need it!

Upgrade the suspension first, you'll get more fun out of it than the brakes, and plus the 2.5i isn't putting down tons of power, so you probably wont be stopping from crazy speeds. Then do wheels/tires and add some more power, then slap on some 06 WRX brakes. I've heard the newer NA model 2.5's are easier to make power with. Good luck!

The only thing the suspension really needs is a rear sway bar to get rid of the understeer... I don't want to lower it, the car is already too low.. As you can see by the mud this car is NOT a "pavement queen".

I've been in a few situations where I wish I had more braking force. This car reaches 100mph pretty quickly.. The 5-speed is geared extremely short and the 2.5L is quite healthy.. They have the compression on these motors at 10:1 for goodness sake.

All subies should be dirty:

I know I posted it before, but this IMHO is what a suby should look like.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!!!

Thumbs up

I love the clean look, but I will admit that a subie covered in mud deserves a +1!
