miles for breaking in EJ20T motor

Hello all -

Just got a 1k on the odometer and did my first oil change on Monday....

Question:

What's the miles do you guys consider for breaking in EJ20T motor before actually pinching the needle???

in my opinion motors are made to be driven. I don't believe in a break in period. thats an awful lot of miles to drive like a sally. Do you guys not take the highways? Every time i get on the high way i have to go above 4,000. Getting an oil change after 1k seems a little to cautious. Just me though. I just figure the car computer will learn your driving style better and adjust.
my two cents

I think your pretty safe now. Especially since you got the oil changed, all the microscopic metal fragments should be gone by now. ENJOY!

WOT during the breakin is suppose to be for built or race engines. our piston rings do not need to be seated with WOT during breakins.
