in my opinion motors are made to be driven. I don't believe in a break in period. thats an awful lot of miles to drive like a sally. Do you guys not take the highways? Every time i get on the high way i have to go above 4,000. Getting an oil change after 1k seems a little to cautious. Just me though. I just figure the car computer will learn your driving style better and adjust.
my two cents

I think your pretty safe now. Especially since you got the oil changed, all the microscopic metal fragments should be gone by now. ENJOY!

Drive ur car like you are running away from the cops "lxiong" cause I put on about 100 miles of Hard driving last night and MAN was it FUN
O yeah tell me when you hit red line in 4th gear
(130mph) note: around 110mph a LOUD whistle will come from the Drivers rear view mirror... look for the sticker that is making the sound

Ive heard this for N/A cars, but it should probally be the same for EJ.
You are suppose to give it some full throttle runs (but dont redline) for first 100 miles (first 20 miles most important) to set the piston rings against the cyclinder walls to get a good seal. Then do a non-synthetic oil change, then a normal factory break in.
Do some research first, it might be a little different for F/I. A few things for sure though--let the car warm up for no more than a minute and start casually driving, then let her rip. And just incase you didnt know, always let it cool down after driving.
