Installed my gauge(s)
Well yesterday I tackled my gauge install. It took about 6 hours with all the running back to the computer to check on how stuff came off etc. etc. Unfortunately I have not hooked up the sensor for the EGT. I don't have the tools to take off the manifold... No not even basic wrenches, I'm at school so all my tools are at home. So yeah, check out my setup and tell me what you think... Oh as far as the performance of the gauges, they're great. Very responsive and accurate. Max boost in higher gears is somewhere around 14.2-14.5 PSI. In first it's around 13 PSI I think. At idle vacuum is around -13 PSI or so. So yeah, I'm very satisfied. Defi gauges are expensive but seem to be very high quality and worth every penny! I'll take some night pics tonight and post them. Oh the record feature of these gauges rocks. You can press record, accelerate through the gears then stop and replay the movement of the gauges and see how your boost behaves in each gear.
Cliff Notes: Installed Defi Link gauges, they rock, great gauges, I'm happy, check out pics, night pics to come...

Ok so here are the night pics, sorry for the blurry control unit picture, dark pictures require a long shutter time and I didn't make a big enough effort to hold the camera still... I do have a question though, I went for a run on the highway tonight and after reviewing the recording I see that my peak boost in 4th and 5th seems to be about 0.5 PSI higher than 3rd. So my readings go like this:
1st: 12ish
2nd: 13-14ish
3rd: 14.5
4th: 15
5th 15
Isn't this high for the stock car? My engine is all stock right now, I have made no mods to affect boost levels. The most info I can offer is that I reset my ECU a day ago when I did the gauge install. Is a peak boost of 15-15.1 PSI normal for a stock car? I understand it varies a tad from car to car...
Anyway that aside, here are the night pics as I promised, I think the gauges match the stock very well, despite the slightly darker green and the red needle.
1st: 12ish
2nd: 13-14ish
3rd: 14.5
4th: 15
5th 15
