ok. legitimate answer time...

i had some yokohama avid V4S tires on my wrx for about 5 months and they would drive through anything without any hint of instability. they were not very good performers though, i'd rate them at about a 6 out of 10 in the dry, but a 8 out of 10 in anything else.

the pirelli p-zero nero m+s tires seem to be pretty kick ***, and tirerack.com gives them good ratings.

i've driven falken grb 451's in the dry, rain, and snow. they kicked *** in dry and rain, but were quite unsafe in the snow. i'm currently on falken azenis st-115 (not the popular autocross version of the azenis) and they're also great in the dry, decent in the rain, and i'm not gonna try in the snow.

Be careful, sometimes images can change when you don't expect them to....

Ask SnoHumper.

BTW, I'm running on 92's right now because they're better all-seasons than my 070's
If you're conscious of what your car and your tires are doing, you'll be fine. It's when you stop thinking and run on bald tires (of *any* variety) in inclement weather that you have problems, espcially with a car that drop-throttle oversteers, stock.

I was just messing with him cause everyone blames the RE's.

I know how much they suck. I got some new tires and the other day I tried to get her side ways on this corner in the rain...didn't budge. and believe me...look in my gallery...snow...I know the RE's suck. but that's why you don't go blasting through corners on bald RE's. I wasn't trying to be a dick. I actually feel for the guy. It sucks to loose a car like that. They are never the same..no matter how good the body shop is.

if they total it I hope you get enough money out of it to get what you want.

as for all season tires.

I like the Falken 451's I had. And the 512's are great.
you might also look into Continental ContiExtremeContact and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.

first rain with re92 on the WRX scared myself ****eless. In a week I had new wheels and so-3 on them - they are pricey but AMAZING in both wet and dry.

i figured tires are cheaper then body/engine repair :-)

i would say that unsafe driving with re92s is not a good idea, next time be more carefull!

I feel your pain.I Wrecked the front end of my car, similar to what happened to you and took the body shop a month and a half to complete the car, but it was worth the wait.

Yes my car is getting fixed as we speak and yes i will be getting new tired right after I get my car back. Man I love my subaru, best car I ever had. Problem is, is $$ is a factor because I'm a college student with a job so its hard to come up with the money when I have other expenses to pay for. I have invested a lot of money though already into my car, but I should of probably made tires a priority, and you know what? I learned from my mistakes.

Thanks guys!

Holy ****, I have the same car in WRBlue, and my tires were BALD, as in... chunks coming out, I even had people sitting next to me at a light tell me my tires were dead, well I was going about 55 towards a green light, and I was turning left, well I had to showoff since my friends were behind me, so I downshift, and floor it, well the rear end broke loose, and I was drifting it pretty well, then it was time to straighten out, so I started to correct, well the car decided to keep going sideways, well the rear end snapped to the other direction and I was headed towards a bus stop with like 3 people sitting on the bench, I was going straight towards them, so I again downshifted, and brought it back in, holy crap I almost was crying.
