Floor Hi-Beam foot switch Mod.

K, I thought this mod would be cool cause I have a set of Hella F500 driving lights that I wanted to wire up to a foot "step-on" switch, that way you don't have to take your hands off the wheel or shifter if you're in a corner and need to dim your lights. Anyways, if anyone else wanted to do this here is the write up.
FWI, all this was done on a 96 L so you're might be a bit different.

1.) Remove 4 plugs in door sill, 2 screw-like plugs, and then remove sill (Pic 1)

2.) Pull back carpet (Pic 2)

3.) Remove two screws (10mm) on dead pedal and one screw (10mm) at the
bottom (Pic 3 & 4)

4.) Take dead pedal out and drill your two mounting holes wherever you like (Pic 5)

5.) Attach switch and I used some locktite so these won't vibrate off (Pic 6 & 7)

I will have more and soon as I'm done but I fried a wire hooking this thing up cause I can't figure out, out of the 3 prongs on this switch, which one is the ground, and so forth. If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.

Ok, I found out the problem. On this switch there are 3 prongs like a triangle. So either the middle and left are hot, or the middle and right are hot.
6.) Remove one of the prongs and cover with silicone (Pic 8)

7.) Attach your wires and test the switch (it should work )
8.) Reattach dead pedal with the 3 screws (Pic 9)

9.) Clean up the wires with zip ties and put carpet and door sill back. I ended up having to cut a slice in the carpet for this switch to work and also a notch out of the door sill.
Enjoy!

Thanks,
Cody

No, I don't but I can take some. Since my car is so old and the bumper needs replacing I just drilled some holes infront of my grille and mounted them there. They really help out with my bad night vision. I can take some pics if ya want.
