go, you have been added to my all-time favorites list. Badass wagon! Next time I go to southern California, is it ok to hit you up to check it out? Post swap pics when that happens.

Yes, I borrowed my friend's shop's lift and did everything by myself pretty much. Got some help here and there from buddies but the swap went smooth. Wiring is 3 times harder because my car is 94 and my motor is 99. If my motor was older ones like 95, it'd have been a lil easier.
Instead of dropping the motor in, I dropped the car onto the engine (on subframe already). You'll need a lift but this is so much easier. I took out the original engine the same way.
car is almost touching the ground... and I'm lifting the subframe using the floor jack to bolt the subframe onto the chasis.
AC and PowerStearing routing needed modification, but I figured that out. Use the original PS and AC lines and bend it to fit.

As promised here come a couple of my STi Ver.6-look wagon

Sorry for the poor quality pics. Will try to get better ones soon.
Not sure if I should go for the middle STi-wing and splash-guards.
The EJ20 engine is nearly original. Except for the Downpipe and Magnex-backbox, K&N-airfilter, Samco-hosekit. Should have around 220PS. I'm thinking about getting Ecutek in the near future.
As for the suspension I got the KW-suspension (german product) and whiteline products (Swaybars (front/rear), droplinks, Strutbars (front/rear), ALK).
There is a Brembo/AP-brakekit waiting to get installed.
Hope you like it (and no comments on the STi-Sticker looking a little crap on the right foglight-cover
)
CHeers!

nice wagon!
your rim 18inches?
I want to lower my car to about your height but I don't think my tires's gonna fit if I lowered that much. I run 225/45/17 on 48 offset rim. what's yours?
haven't seen that headlight cover for a long time, lol. it looks good on black car.
and you chopped the antenna because the STi wing hits? it looks shorter. yes I looked your car again and again and again. haha.

The hardest part on Subaru swap is the wiring.

@240sxer
I got those rims from a friend over here. Subaru Switzerland was selling these as options I guess. And yes, they're speedlines ST2's.
@go go go
I'm sorry for abusing your thread
Hope you don't mind
the rims are 17" and run on 215/40/17 (Falken FK451) so that's why they might look like 18s. The offset is nearly original 52. I don't have any problems so far. Will attend some trackday-action in a couple of weeks. Will see if I'll get problems there
haha, you woudn't see these headlight protectors over here too. I saw these the first time in the UK
Actually I'm not sure about the looks, but it's cheaper to replace the protectors than those headlamp when some stoney hits it...
What you mean about the chopped antenna? I think the original owner used to have a navigation system or for the mobile phone. I will loose that one with the roof bars some day to get the same clean look as yours.
Haha, I'm just doing about the same thing @ your car
Cheers,
Matt

yea i was shooting for the rim but it didn't happen
maybe next time

I love seeing other GF8s, no problem about your pic in this thread
I was talking about the antenna you have in the rear of the roof.
Japanese models have radio antenna there. It's pretty long and it hits the roof spoiler when the hatch is opened. I thought you cut it off to avoid that.
215/45/17 and 52.. I see.
My tires are bigger and offset is 48. No wonder I have problems rubbing the fender. 225/45/17 that I have is probably almost at the limit for GC.GF chasis.
Falken makes Azenis only in 225, I wish there was 215 for that tire.
Sweet rims you got, I didn't know it was dealer optional over there.
It's the wheel that Subaru used for WRC when they were winning!
Gr.A Impreza was so sweet

Ah I see! No, the GF8s over here don't have the antenna placed there. The radio antenna is placed just the same place as yours.
Forgot to say, that the width of the rims are 7.0" not 7.5" as most of 17s have. So that's another plus for not rubbing
225/45/17... is that the usual size recomended over there? My friend is running 225/35/17 on 17x7.5" and using Leda B suspension and has no problems so far (his car isn't that low as mine though).
Yes, I've seen a couple of pics when Subaru was running these wheels on the WRC (1996 I think...). But I'm not sure wether they were also Speedlines in cooperation with Prodrive or not. Although they look really nice, I was quite surprised how heavy those rims are (I don't have any figures though). Anyway, I like 'em and they do look a thousand times better than the Koseis I used to have

Okay, time to go to bed...
Cheers!
