07 impreza project
hey everyone, im new to the subaru family, i just bought an 07 impreza 2.5 i . i will have a pic shortly. i wanted to do kind of an sti clone thing with the body. so far i have an sti spoiler and hood but i dont really think i would like the sti badges. ( just because i hated those people that put a type r badge on some civic). anyways, back to my project, i put on an obx exhaust and now i want to do intake. the good thing about our subaru dealership here is that the salesman have modded subaru's so i talked to him and he talked me out of the spt intake. any advice on what kind of intake i should get as far as sound and performance? or any advice about subaru's for that matter? thanks !

get a downpipe for u car. Then either wait for the accessport to come out for ur car or get a ecutek reflash. But if you want to save some money and make the motor faster with a budget get a vf39 since they r great budget turbos then do the reflash.
so here is a recap
1-dp
2-vf39
3-reflash
oh yeah and just get a walbro 255lph fuel pump just to be safe.

hmm well then I guess the mods list I just talked about may prove to be a problem. Umm Ok well If you had an 07tr or wrx then go ahead and checkout the mods list that I posted above. For an na car umm swap ur motor w/an sti motor and u will get all the benefits of having great insurance price but with turbo.

Frist make it stop, then make it handel, then make it fast
bigger brakes are always good. no matter what HP you have
Get some nice springs,
Lighter wheels. if you hunt around you can find 17's as light as 11lbs each.
You don't need the STi hood scoop, (no innercooler needing the air) but the hood is lighter so trade the scoop with a WRX owner or get a revrse scoop, you don't need the extra drag.
Yuo cna always find ways to save weight. Carbon trunk (or OEM Spec C if you know where to get one). the STi has a thiner rear window.
The 2.5 with a good exaust system sound wonderful. no woosh from a turbo, but a awesome noise none the less.
As for the stickers... no, you don't need stickers.

i just wanted to thanks everyone for the advice. at first i was really upset that i could only afford the 2.5 i but i think with help from other tuners that have treaded waters here before, it will be a good fun car with alot of possibilities !
Right on... I agree. I've also got a 2.5 and although it won't be nearly as fast as say an STI (or even a mildly modded WRX for that matter), it will be huge on the fun-factor. Relatively quick, and nimble in the corners, with day-to-day reliability makes for an affordable and very fun car indeed. Also, it will make a great car to hand down to my younger brother when I am ready for my next vehicle in a few years.
