Good day I club! Im making a thread that will follow my hawkeye swap as well as my quad tips on my 02 RS. This past year on my way to S3 in LA, i was up till 3AM Friday night topping off all fluids, checking hoses, flipping tires, and much more. headed to LA 8AM on Saturday and crashed my Subaru Saturday 5PM, TWO miles from my cousins house. I could care less about the subie, i was more irritated at my self for making that poor judgement call to try and make it. BIGGEST lesson learned! Now, onto the project! i wont be focusing so much on the DIY aspect of it as much as posting pics for your enjoyment/reference. There wont be steps or procedures. I have a few weeks to get this done and painted. Right after BAM, i went to shop and starting taking off 02 front end.

Also, thanks a lot Phoshizzle for coming by and explaining this rat's nest of wiring for headlights and how each bulb reacts with 02 harness! hawkeye angel eyes, halos, and high beams wired! Onto turn signal and parking lights

 

Some more progress! Buckets, tie bar, fenders mocked up. Ran into some issues with clearance with the buckets. Most people when doing the 07 swap cut away at the top tie bar. since my entire core support was borked from accident, i decided to just install 07 parts from the get go. SkizzDawg was awesome and let me poke around his 07 with bumper off. Noticed chassis is a bit different where bucket spot welds to. VERY different. With some measurements i took, im going to try and reshape corners of buckets where they dont clear. Other than than, headlight wiring is all done and finalized (soldered, heat shrunk, taped, tucked, and retained all connecters right at rear of headlight for hassle free headlight R+R later down the road)

This week i hope to have everything spot welded and lined up. After that I can take off the front end and get it ready for paint! BRP While its getting paint, ill be finishing quad tips and custom diffuser

 

just about ready for paint hood comes in mid Sept, which leaves me time to finish quad tips. some minor adjustments needed with front end. (finish welding, swap out DRL bulbs, install lip, design fender liner for 07)

 

Hey man good work on your swap, I did the same one! Looks like your doing it perfectly. Just wanted to through it out there I figured out how to wire the stock duel filament wiring into 2 beams that work with the high beam correctly using 2 SBDT relays and an extra ground. If you need any help on the wiring let me know! Good luck sorry about your accident man.
