Just remove the wing and put some tape over the holes 
I looked for a decent wingless trunk to buy before I tookmy STi wing off. It looks cruddy only when you stare at the top of the trunk, just think of other things instead

Lol, yeah.. I thought about it but iono
Saw one today that the guy had removed the STi wing from and seeing how riddled w/ holes it was, I decided I'd at least like a WRX trunk to start with if I pull the wing off of anything.
