WTS: working EJ205 longblock
Longblock out of my 2002 WRX. Current mileage is around 183k. Working fine when I pulled it out and swapped it for ver8 EJ207 setup.
I am original owner and have done regular maintenance.
I swapped because I wanted AVCS and had the money to do it, not because my original engine had issues.
I guarantee there are NO spun bearings and it will run. The rest of the engine is sold as is. I have always confirmed oil was fully warmed via oil pressure gauge prior to any hard driving. used some 5W30 in the car's early life, but switched to 5w40 once the community discovered that this was a good idea.
This block did see some knock under cruising load on a Vishnu Unichip in early life. I've been self tuning since the UTEC was available (later via Open Source) since Shiv wouldn't / couldn't fix his mistakes and it's gone over 130k miles since then. Last 40k miles or so has been on E85, some with original turbo, some with an FP18g at 20 psi. Motor was running quite well when pulled.
Miles are mostly commute miles. I don't drive hard often, but sometimes. Original clutch lasted until ~140k. That wouldn't happen if I was hard on it all the time.
Passenger side rocker cover gasket was replaced less than 10k miles from the engine being pulled out. Driver side rocker cover gasket never replaced. Timing belt was done at 90.4k by GB Motorsports in 2005 (RIP GB) Water pump also replaced at that service.
What is attached & included:
- coolant hardlines & crosspipe
- Everything under the timing covers... including the timing covers themselves (But timing belt has 92-93k on it, so might consider it time to replace.)
- Knock sensor and other sensor attached to the block (crank, oil pressure, temp, etc...)
What isn't attached or included:
- accessories (alternator, AC , PS pump)
- TGV housings or intake manifold
- harness (can be included if you need... I used ID1000 injectors and cut the stock injector connectors and put on pigtails for EV14 injectors. These connectors fit any of the EV14 injectors, like FIC 900, DW EV14 1000cc, but not the Denso 1000cc, also the FIC 2000+ or ID 2000+)
- fuel rails
- oil pan, baffle, pickup, etc...
- oil cooler and associated hardware
- spark plugs or coils.
Asking $800, firm. PM for details, or to set up a time to drop by and check it out if you like.
Price is picked up from my house (Dublin.) I can deliver to RBMS or GST at no extra charge, as I'm over that way with reasonable frequency. Prefer not to ship, but can at buyer's expense.
