Hello all,
I am looking to pass smog - I am running catless and need some stock parts to get a pass here in the bay - I am already a couple of months over and have not been pulled over yet.... yet. I am looking for a stock up pipe and down pipe to pass the test!!!! Any leads?

I have also recently read on here that I will only need the down pipe? any feedback?

downpipe will make you pass just fine. up pipe isnt necessary. Wheres your location? I've got a stock DP in SJ but plenty of people have them and if you aren't near SJ, I'm sure you can find a closer one

 

Don't need a up pipe just use your stock downpipenand u will be fine

 

Stock dp only x3^ I passed just fine with a vf43 n supporting mods just fine

 

I'm in foster city, if you want to borrow mine for a 6 pack of a beer of your choice, I'd be down.

 

What kind of uppipe do you have? A picky tech may fail you on visual if its a big shiny metal piece, if they can even find where the uppipe is...but you can pass visual easy with a catless sti or 0607 wrx uppipe because of the oem heatshield

 

^ and thats why I plan on getting an 04 sti up pipe on my car haha. We are working on us meeting for my DP ATM. Hes located in cupertino.

it is a megan racing up that I bought on amazon. Somehow I passed the visual but not the test. Installing the new dp tomorrow and some iridium plugs cause I'm smelling gassy.

I have done a bunch of stuff to the car including blouch TD05 and some tuning from GST, a great shop. I didn't want to get too crazy with the car since it is my daily driver. I haven't been as active on this forum as I should be but the people are always excellent and it is is nice having many members in the bay for local support.

And I just hit 200K miles last week!!!!!!

Yeah I've got an sti piece on mine...passed smog twice no issues

 

I have a stock dp you can use, located in the norh bay however.
