WTB: R160 3.9 final drive
Trying to finally throw in the 6 speed, all i need is
R160 with a 3.9 final drive (i believe is off the older legacy's or something)
and an AUTO wrx drive shaft
(i have an sti drive shaft, but would rather not elongate the holes and do it correctly, but if anyone's ever done this, pm me)
Thanks guys

Let me guess... You got one out of an 05 sti? Yea I'm in the same boat as you right now. Need the R180 flange. Took me forever for the rear diff. I ended up just getting one that was 3.90, and swapping everything into my stock diff housing and using my stock limited slip.
Good Luck!

Nice! yeah im using an 05 6pd. I was reading on a few forums that the stock lsd sucks so much, you wouldnt notice a difference without it. still debating if i want to swap the stuff into my current diff or not. what do you suggest?

I think the R180/ Spec-B axle route is the best bang for the buck, especially if you can find the Spec-B axles for $400-$500. You reuse your outer CVs from your WRX axles, you do not have to change hubs or brakes, and you get the benefit of a real rear LSD with the more stout R180 ring gear.
There are enough 3.90 R180s out that that the diff does not add a lot of $$$ to the cost. I scored my latest 3.90 R180 for $200, which is cheaper than most R160 3.90 setups you will find. Hell, I sold a 3.90 R160 Ring and Pinion for $150!! The first 3.90 R180 I scored was a trade for some parts. Maybe give Mike @ GST a call. He always has some extras kickin around the shop...
Call Millennium auto and the other Suby wreckers for the Spec-B axles.
