Why an FP? I ask because their Mitsubishi turbo variants generally make less than power than their competitors. Do they even make 20Gs anymore?

wtf are you talking about? the fp20g is a great turbo. please post proof to that ignorant statement, and I'll show you dyno plots from my 07 wrx and 08 fxt that both made great power on a fp20g

Ignorant? Please... What I posted is far from a secret.

I never said it was a bad turbo, just that competitor models generally make a little but more.

from research I did in the past when I was learning turbos, I read that the FPs arent very reliable and dont push quite as much power as a lot of competitors. But there have been plenty of FPs that also have been great. Sounded like they were a hit and miss kind of thing. And hell they are cheap, I'd consider getting one

I like my FP Green but I have heard there are better options if you want a 20G. I was also told that the oil feed line is known to fail so you might want to look into replacing it if you do get the FP Green.

What do you drive? How do you drive? Any particular goals? Current mods and budget for upgrade?

I drive a 2006 wrx, i drive pretty much normal on the roads and really only smash on the freeway. current mods are vf39 front mount exhaust etc, budget is up to $1000 for the turbo

I meant budget for everything about the upgrade. Injectors, clutch, motor mounts, tuning, labor(?). Any goals in mind? Faster spool? XXX whp?

actually looks like the XTR is making 10 less than the XT so maybe the 20G XT 8CM2 is the way to be...
