WTB UP DP & Engine Management
I have an '04 WRX. money's tight so I want to do things smart and I think engine management is a good way to start.
Also looking for a catless up/pipe (aftermarket or stock STI I believe is catless) and a catted or shorty DP

TURNWRX you have PM
Mike thank you for your response to the PMs, I hear great things about your shop and hope to get a tune from your shop sometime later this year... for now though, money's tight

dont run the cobb maps, they really suck and could possibly cause more harm to your engine than if you were to run no reflash.
definitely go get it tuned by mike to extract smooth, safe power

Any backing behind that statement. It very much interests me, as I dont want to damage my car, but I've really only heard good things. I plan to do a custom tune once I add on some bolt ons, right now bone stock (and then when i throw on the up/down pipe) I'm told off the shelf is fine...

While the Cobb maps are not ideal, they're certainly better than the factory ECU map on the 04+ WRX's. At the very least it gets rid of the nasty open loop delay which not only makes the car much smoother and more responsive, but it also alleviates the persistent knock associated with the delay on our 91 octane. As long as the rest of your car is in good mechanical condition, the cobb map should get you by until you have money for a good tune.
Thanks
