hey bro, i had the same situation...went to west coast mufflers in concord and the guy made me a real nice 2.5 straight thru pipe for $100. its even got a collector flange on the front so its a real smooth transition from 3" to 2.5".

my $.02

^ yeah you can get one fab'd up at a muffler shop.

Mad Dad SCP also makes a midpipe that would solve your problem. it connects to a 3" aftermarket downpipe and tapers down to 2.5" in order to mate with any oem axle back. this might offer better flow because its a smooth taper down the entire length of the pipe, instead of an abrupt 2.5" flange at the end of the pipe, which may cause turbulence and disrupt flow.

Was thinking about doing that. I got a spare midpipe was going to see if i could get a shop to just delete the resonator.

How does it sound? thing i worry about is that i will have just a unrefined boxer rumble which i would hate. Just not what i want my car to sound like.

Thanks for the info though ill be sure to give em a call
