WTB: 1998 - 2001 RS Automatic ONLY *California*

Hey guys, I'm looking for a Subaru RS from 1998 - 2001 in automatic only. The car is for my sister and she loves those year of the Subaru RS. I live in California (Bay Area) and I'm just looking for cars within the state. I can try to travel to the neighboring states like Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona. I work so It's hard to get around with having so little time. My maximum price to pay for one is $6,500 and it has to be in good working condition. Send me offers! Thanks!

Svek is selling his in that price range. It is a MT though, but you can teach your sister how to drive one. If not, ask brucelee. I remember that he considered selling his awhile ago. It is going to be hard to find one for $6500. You'll probably be looking to pay a little more than that.

I just saw one on here this morning. Manual tranny. I think it's the same one stated above. It might take a couple of hours to show her how to drive stick(I'll show her LOL JK).

No love... Year to date, only one Suby owner has let me practice. +1 to JOEBOBBUCKET, and he had a f***ed up clutch, too.

nice one kyle!

teaching some stick really isn't that bad though. My girlfriend already kind of kew and I taught her last week....didn't take too long for her to get the hang of it, but its all in how you teach them.

If you say "bring the revs up and then let out the clutch when the revs are at the right spot" they are never gonna learn. But if you have them slowly let out the clutch so they can see where it starts to grab it'll go a lot smoother overall.

I thought brucelee's RS was a manual? He got it converted a few years back, didn't he? And honestly, if driven properly, manuals get better gas mileage (always a good selling point)

haha ahhh yeahhh

not to mention theres only like 1 auto for every 10 manual...so there are probably 30 RS's for sale right now in CA...so only 3 are gonna be auto. And prices will be $7000-13000 (Dealer)

i bought mine for $8000

plus if original poster wants to buy it from her in the future you can and not be stuck with auto.

I helped my friends sister buy a miata...test drive...check rear end, does it drift around the cloverleaf? YES ok buy it. That way i'll have a possible car to buy in a few years if i offer the right price

^i come back to this thread because i jinxed my friends sister, she dorifto'd around a cloverleaf and crashed two days ago...pretty much totaled the miata oh well theres still like 500,000 miatas left in the world to buy.

so maybe you shouldnt get her a 2.5RS because she will crash it and it will be 1 less 2.5RS in the world...at least it was an auto...no one cares about autos
