has to be scam. for that price he wouldnt have to bother shipping the car, it would have been sold locally already.

go to craigslist and follow the links to "scams." they give examples of incredible deals featuring the use of western union transactions or cashiers checks. the low price lures people in and the supposed buyers give forged cashiers checks that you will be liable for when your bank cashes and there are no funds for it. be careful.

"hey, Im in San Francisco and I want to sell a WRX for 9K, think I'll go post an add on a chicago classified website since that will be alot less hassle then trying to sell it around here at this price"

haha, what a scam, how about that moron on NASIOC that got the "killer deal" on the 12K supra

You should tell him that you have a friend in chicago who can come by and check out the car... see what the guy says to that.

It's a scam. I'm looking at his wording..spacing..etc.

I am a moderator on a mountain bike forum and we have had an issue recently with people scamming in a very similar style.

it's a very common scam. Sometimes they do it the other way..they'll buy something and offer you more than it's worth..using cashiers checks.

lots of these scams going around right now. Sometimes they'll show you one thing..advertise it. sell it. ship it. But it's something else. My buddy bought a car off of ebay. Turned out to be a clone...worht about a quarter of what the original would have been worth. think it was a superbee or something...can't remember...know it was a mopar though.

anyways.....watch out for this crap. Carfax misses a lot. there are tons of ways to get around it. Like simply not reporting damage to the insurance company.

$9800 is just WAY WAY TO GOOD> I'd expect damn near twice that for asking price...at the least $16k.

Definitely a scam - Krinkov got the red flag I saw. I mean, come on. Do they still make people that stupid? I guess so.

I have been trying to sell my '03 Sedan for a week or so now. Since I posted it on Yahoo Classifieds, I have an alarming number of people in India and environs who have clients that are interested in my car. Again.. Ho-my-gawd sheezus people. Intercontinental Car Shopping? First of all no.

I have a friend who had an '03 Z06. That car was in the shop 3x that I knew about for some pretty serious bodywork. He even went through the normal channels to have it fixed, insurance and all - nothing funny. Carfax is clean. 'Nuff said.
