Wanted: Spanner Wrench in Sac/EG

Trying to adjust some coilovers without a spanner wrench but the rears are just not working with me. I tried channel locks and a screwdriver/hammer and was able to get some movement from the collars, but I was really doing more damage to the collars than anything else. I figure I should at least try a spanner wrench before I go crazy and start breaking things.

Anyone have a spanner wrench or two I can borrow/rent/buy in the Sacramento/Elk Grove area? I have Helix DNA coilovers but I figure they all pretty much use the same size locking collars, no?

Did you put any kind of lubricant on the threads? If not, spray some WD-40 on the collar/threads and it should be a lot easier to adjust.

He wants $420 for it

I did try some WD-40 but it just wasn't enough. It was a bit difficult to get leverage on the screwdriver/hammer routine and the channel locks were actually pretty useful for the fronts, but the threads on the rears were just too stubborn and I was mostly just chewing up the teeth of the collar. I think I just need a good tool to get in there and wiggle the collars around to loosen the gunk in the threads and free things up.

Yeah, I figured I'd try here for a couple days before I went that route. Sometimes people have good tips/tricks to save you some time and money, y'know?

Thanks though

You can also use the spanner wrenches for removing the side diff caps if you need to replace the axel diff seals
My cusco wrenches worked perfectly for them
