I'm wondering if you take out the STI 2.5L Longblock and 6 speed and replace it with the Wrx 2.0L and the 5 speed, will you have any problems with starting it or driving it for that matter..
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Why?
And am I mistaken or is this the classifieds?
Anyways the cam pickups are different and it wouldn't start/run unless you swapped the whole harness and ecu over, or did some weird wiring voodoo. Even then the sti ecu would prob throw a check engine light due to the missing avcs, amongst other things.

Yeah I think the main concern here is the ECU pretty, the wiring is doable. I believe there's alot of folks on Nasioc that have been swapping harnesses and wires back and forth. However the one common thing is that you to have the right ECU. I believe they are year specific, 2002-2003, 2004-2005, etc.
this is something you need to ask on nasioc, the classifieds is a classifieds, 100% of the people here are looking for used parts locally.
nasioc has millions of users who spread info, your best bet is going there.
and to anwser your question, drop the motor, the tranny, and get tuned for it, i dont see why the ecu or wiring harness should matter considering wrx's put sti motors and transmissions and keep their stock ecu.
