Gauging interest

I just wanted to see if there was enough interest to run a Group Buy on some JDM parts. Specifically the Jspeed side tower bars that can be seen at www.cs-marche.com. These carry a conversion rate of about $260 a pair. And, if we can get 10+ people it would be $240 a pair... and lastly at 15+ would be $230 a pair. Just wanted to find out if there were enough people to get in on this, since we get containers from Japan roughly every 5 weeks.

EDIT: forgot to add how to read and locate the part.... Sorry. Scroll down a bit and look to the right where its blinking "NEW". Cant miss the WRB. You can also use babelfish.altavista.com to translate.

Interesting looking pieces. A little more involved than installing strut tower bars. Cost isn't too bad.

Biggest downside - zero bling factor.

Looks like it's supposed to stiffen the chassis when the suspension loads the strut towers. Whereas a strut tower brace will stiffen it laterally (strut towers bowing inward under load), these pieces are supposed to prevent chassis flexing fore and aft, I suppose. I don't know that this is really a problem with the GD chassis.

Not sure about chassis rigidity in that area. I'd have to do more research. Maybe look for something published by Subaru engineers doing a comparison of the older vs New Age Impreza chassis. I remember reading that they increased torsional stiffness by a whopping amount (I think it was in R&T magazine) compared with the previous generation Impreza but this doesn't really tell me specifically about the strut tower area.

actually, STi makes a very similar part called an inner fender brace or something like that. i think that they come on either the new RA Spec-C's, or the S202. i don't know how much you'd notice them, but they sure look like they'd be a pain to install.

I think it has to do with our browser settings and support for a Japanese character set. Without it, all we see are those garbage characters and not kanji.
