FS: Built Lancer Evolution- 2.3 Stroker, GT30R- 1,200 miles! (SF Bay Area)

I'm putting my Evo up for sale. The 2.3 stroker motor was completed in October of 2009, and in the past 8 months, I've put 1,200 miles on the new motor and the first 1000 miles was put within the first week and the other 100 was driving to and from getting the car tuned, the rest was just randomly driving around. It just doesn't make sense to be paying $600 every month for the car payment and insurance on a car I never drive anymore. I bought an Integra to drive around when I was waiting for the motor to get built, but even now, I drive my integra 99.9% of the time, and at this point, i only turn the Evo on and drive it around the block once a week just to keep the battery and everything alive (Although sometimes I forget and 9 out of 10 times, the battery is dead by the time I want to drive it. Thus is the life of using a mini battery. lol.)

I purchased this Evo from the owner, Devin, of Speed Element Performance nearly 3 years ago. The car was just smogged earlier this month AND Registration has been taken care of until April of 2011 also! The only thing this car needs is a new front lip, since the one on there is cracked from bottoming out.

**The car has a brand new clutch/flywheel (still less than 50 miles on it, after I pick the car up), new pads and rotors (only been on the car for around 5k miles), as well as very new tires (90% tread), so you don't need to worry about replacing wear and tear items any time soon.

All installation work was done at Speed Element Performance in Fremont and tuning was done by Full Function in Hayward. The motor is freshly built and only has around 1,200 miles on it.

On 91 octane, it made 400whp/380wtq on a Mustang Dyno at 25psi on 91 octane at Full Function in Hayward. I'm sure on racegas or E-85, it'll break 500whp just fine, but I haven't had the chance (or motivation) to get it tuned on race gas.

I'm looking to get 24k for the car.

*NOTE: The car has a BRAND NEW clutch, so if you want to go on test drives, you can't really WOT much, or the clutch will slip. I'm going to pick the car up from Speed Element this Saturday, so the following week, i will try to daily drive the Evo and put some miles on the clutch and break it in.

Just wondering...how did you get this to past smog? Seems like with all your mods, it wouldn't pass.

Ehhh.... Very true. When you add up the labor costs and parts, it's well over 30k. THEN, there was the price of the car itself... bleh. It's better for my health to just not think about it. lol.

I might be moving down to San Jose next year, and I only need my Integra, so even though I'll be taking a rediculously large loss on the Evo, I don't intend to bring it with me, so it needs to go.

Yea you can't ever ever ever expect to get back what you put into a car, that's just the way modding a vehicle goes. I've probably got $30k in labor and parts but there's no way I could sell my car for 30k. Anywho someone needs to pick this evo up, too sexy to go to waste.

Yeah, I already knew that coming into the whole car hobby. This is my 2nd Evo. My first one was rearended and totalled on the Bay Bridge, and so I got cashed out and bought this Evo and use the rest of the money to mod this one.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! This really is a great car. The 2.3 with the GT30R spools really fast, which makes for a really nice, wide power/torque band. It'd make a great street car or a full out track car. This car is reliable, so you can drive it to the track, race, drive it home, and then drive it to Costco to buy groceries! lol

Did I mention this car still consistantly gets 21mpg w/ mostly city driving? If you do a lot of freeway, I've gotten around 25mpg.

The car at this point is probably really well suited for road courses/auto x/drag racing, or pretty much anything you would want to do.

You shouldn't sell this car for less. Worth $25k every penny - Come on guys, 30r and 2.3 stroker and cams?

This car on e85 will totally break 500whp.... on a heartbreaker Mustang dyno. Evos with this same setup and a larger turbo do like 600+ whp on Mustang dynos

Yeah, with the current setup on E85, it should be able to break 500whp just fine. I had thought about running a GT35R or PT6262 (which Pat from Full Function ran 9.9 in the 1/4 mile with on a 2.0L), but I decided to stick with the GT30R due to the fact that it spooled so quickly, and had such a beautiful power band with the 2.3. It made for a great street car.
