Fs: 02 wrx transmission

I have a tranny that I just swapped out of my bugeye with 136k on it. was making a berring noise and was run with low fluid, will need a rebuild.
located in the north bay. will be able to sell on Monday as the part is in the shop for the weekend. sorry no pics at the moment.
400 bucks takes it.

hmm...i could shoot you 100-150. im looking for a junked (stripped gears, shot syncros, bad diff, etc) to open up and learn really. my front diff on my 02rs is slowly starting to go. and im going to rebuild the diff myself. but id like to open up a tranny i know i wont need to put back together. let me know

im not sure i understand what youre asking..lol

i dont know exactly which front diff it is that come stock on bigeye RSs. but mine is slowly going out. replaced both front halfshafts and the noise is still there. there is really nothing else it can be but the diffs at this point. once i open up a tranny case, ill have a more solid mental picture of what going on in MY diff casing.

I bet your rear tranmission cover/carrier bearing is going out. I've seen those fail more then a front diff. theres about 3-4 bearings in the rear tail shaft of the transmission that makes a nice humming/roaring noise when driving around.

cool cool thanks for the info. im guessing its a diff issue as it only clanks and pops around slow turns or when turning in reverse. also, on my DD set (18x9.5 et 38 in 245 40 18's Rota Grids) i got a flat a month ago and ran on my OEM spare for TWO days. was that enough to potentially strip the gears in my spider cage (side ears and pinion)
