Feeler: 04 Forester XT Premium VF43/5 speed
Putting a feeler out there for my baby...
Build/Journal here.
Quick break down below:
2004 Subaru Forester XT 2.5 Premium - 5 speed - GST Tuned - 270 awhp / 285 awtq - Java Black Pearl
Currently installed:
Engine/Exhaust:
The Story: (TL;DR)
Purchased @ 103k miles with TD04 & 4EAT. (insert lots of mods/upgrades here) At 153k miles, the engine seized. Instead of trashing the baby I just finished putting together, I rebuilt her. New 2010 STi short block w/ existing parts. 5 speed (from fractal here on the forums) swapped in. 1000 mile break in completed, then retuned by Mike @ GST. She has been running like a beast ever since I have all paperwork for the car from when I purchased it @ 103k miles up until now.
This car is almost 1 of a kind. Started out as a 2004 XT Premium (heated leather, large sunroof, etc), then got swapped to a 5 speed (which didn't get the leather + sunroof). Booya!
Side note: Put on bigger injectors, and a 3" CBE and you're well in the 300's.
The Good:
The car is already done. No need to source parts from the forums, or drool over other peoples setups. This is it. This is what people aim for. Conservative tune for longevity, yet aggressive enough to shut people up.
The Bad: Java black pearl that is 8 years old, shows it's scars well. It has some scratches, some dings, and the like. Don't get me wrong, it looks great, but when you really look at it... it could use a re-paint at some point. This minor con, doesn't make a dent in the weight of the pro's though.
Current stats:
Chassis Mileage: 16x,xxx miles
New Engine Mileage: 1x,xxx miles (as of 5/13/12, 10,400 miles)
"New" 5 speed Mileage: 4x,xxx miles (got from fractal here on sf.org w/ 3x,xxx miles)
I'm averaging 22mpg, w/ a 60 mile round trip commute (40 of which are driving of a mountain). I've gotten as high as 28 mpg driving on flat land @ 75mph. Depending on your driving, you're anywhere in between those numbers.
Putting in some #'s and checking some boxes on KBB has got me around $16,900 for "what it is", putting the chassis mileage aside, since most things have been replaced or are in good working order. It also includes a spare set of winter wheels with less than 5,000 miles on them. (might be interested in keeping the winter wheels, since we're getting a 2012 or 13 Impreza wagon and they still share the 5x100 fitment.)
So, I'd like to see around $16,000 for the whole package.
Car is located in the South Bay Area, California, USA. I'm not interested in shipping, so if you're serious, fly out and drive it home. I will also be posting this feeler on i-club.com.
Pictures coming soon.
ps. we also have a 05 STi (OBP, 96k miles on chassis/tranny, 15k miles on engine, stock) that we might part with soon too.
