Jesus lordy, i think i've posted this like 5 times already, but this time i'm offering it for real. I'm not going to flake out this time and decide "oh no! but i love this car!". It's time to get rid of it, because it's just collecting pine pollen in auburn, and i'm in oakland without enough money to fix it up. So here, check it.

It's a '71 4 door, used to be an autocross car, and has a long list of mods, including, but not limited to -

5 speed
roadster clutch
nismo sway bars
sss head with cam
dual .44 webers
corolla struts with lowered springs
some inexplicable dual oil filter system
trunk mounted battery
etc.
Extra set of gold meshies.

That being said, the car is beat to living hell - i drove it up from sf to auburn after buying it, and it went like the dickens - but then we got about halfway through pulling the body apart to clean it when i lost my job, and then the car went into hibernation.

The car is being offered without a title, simply because we don't know where it is - i don't even know if that is legal, but christ - if you want the car, come get it - it would be the *sweetest* road rocket ever with some major bodywork and some TLC. It will need to be trailered out of auburn.

Ted...share the wealth...I'm very interested. I have the paint and the place to paint it already...

 

I'm gonna be using it as a parts car to get my 2 door running....I need things like the hood, chrome trim pieces, engine/tranny, dash and misc. interior parts, gas tank.....the list goes on and on.....so I am basically gonna strip all the stuff off of it that I need and can use, then most likely re-sell whatever is left of it.

Edit: OneManArmy....Ian said that it is in pretty bad shape with some frame damage, so it would take ALOT of work to get it straight again...not to mention a ton of body work....oh yea, and he lost the title. If you want a project 510, I would suggest checking out Craigslist (thats how I found my car) or www.dimequarterly.com classifieds....I have seen some VERY good deals in both of those places.

 

frame damage...bah. No problem. Body issues...bah no problem. I only care about the parts on the thing. I'd be ripping the interior out anyways. I can dig up body parts or bang those out.

dimequarterly usually has outdated classifieds or stuff that's overpriced. I just want something to jack around with...basically a good runner with crappy interior and body issues.

Yeah, ted - I'm stoked for your project - i feel guilty making that car sit up there in the woods, so i'm glad someone is going to take its bits and make it something other than a pile of rust. It's little 1600 has alot of history on it, and i think has a "peanut head" - and i used to know what that meant, but i'm pretty sure its a good thing. It also has tokiko gas shocks the whole way around, but i think the cartriges are shot for sure. I don't know if those can be replaced or not. Anyways...

Onemanarmy - dude, the body panels are pretty knocked in - I don't know if there is any frame damage per se, but it looks like it started a gang fight and lost. The entire rear clip could probably be replaced, as some of the rear quarter panel is just chewed to hell. I did find an outfit in australia that sells really, really awesome bits for the 510 - including new rear quarterpanels - which is usually the first to go on those cars.

In the meantime, you should hit www.craigslist.com as much as you can, as from time to time an old lady will sell her original 510 for $300. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen - you just gotta keep your eye out.

yeah...everytime I see a 510 it's like $4-6k. $1500 for pieces of crap.

At least your suspension and motor bits are good. hell of a deal.

I'd be happy to replace the rear panel, fenders..etc. No problem for me.

but alas...I am too late. Maybe I'll catch a break sometime. I looked for one for like 6 months. Then I picked up my 53' caddy. Stopped lookin.

Soon as the caddy gets finished with body work/paint and possibly air bags I'll start looking for another 510 or maybe an old truck to chop down and run fenderless.

 

Yeah, the car is worth a lot more than $500, but i dont care - the only thing i demand is that ted makes a badass 510, and keeps us updated with pictures.

When you make the sale, the new owner can apply for a replacement title if the previous one was lost. I believe it will require your signature and you'll have to have it notorized.

 

I will def. be making a one of a kind, UBER badass 510 (think fully built STi motor eventually), and the pics will def. be posted throughout the stages of restoration.

infact, here's some pics of how it looks right now.....its rear tires are obviously oversized 280Z tires....but I wanna put some silver STI BBS rims on it when its done, btw, it does NOT run right now, thats why I wanna put in Ian's motor, so I can fix up the L16 and be driving her around as I fix her up.
