Is this lighter than stock? and were there any weird things with the install like having to pound floorboards with a hammer? Also, what does D.S.S. say about how long/how much power these will last/handle?

yes its a one piece shaft about 18 lbs If I remember right the stock shaft it about 27 lbs no pounding floor boards the only thing is you lose the rear dirt shield near the yoke for the diff and you have too massage the rear subframe in two spots thats all! and yes it makes a difference I wish I could trade it for the 6-speed one but d.s.s wont trade...
