I'll keep my eyes out. Most of the salvage ones are good motors with trashed bodies... but I'll keep my eyes open...

Is this for the STi drivetrain you've got?

i'd be interested in a sti with <50k mi, motor and tranny has to be okay. Let me know if you get any of those. Oh and if the rear diff, axles are okay, that'd be nice too.

Like everyone and their brother I'm interested in an STI somewhere in the next 3-4 months. First I have to poop a golden nugget but definately interested.

The Blue '05 STi sold for $12000, so figure another $1000 for fees. Not a bad price for a complete car that runs and drives... at least everything works!

You know what we could do is team up together and buy a "whole, or mostly whole" rolled/wrecked cars and then pull respective parts. That way, we can split the cost of auction fees and door-to-door shipping. Someone takes the block, someone takes the tranny, etc.

Rat, is this possible?

absolutely, as long as I only have to deal with one person

Get a group together, let me know what you're looking for and how much you want to spend. I'll try to get if for less than your max.

Cool. I am actually poor right now, but yeah, I'll keep it in mind. Right now, I am making my "L" WRX worthy before I decide to swap a new engine.

Yeah. You are probably right, but I like my GC-style "L."

When you say "much less," how much less do you mean?

I meant for swapping into your L...

Two weeks ago a 2006 WRX had a high bid of $5100. However, that's on approval from the insurance company... they may have come back with a purchase price for the high bidder.

I should have gotten that one...

Oh yeah. The swap will be expensive. What was the condition of the WRX?

Let me know if you come upon a totally wrecked 5spd EVO 8. I want the 5spd and possibly motor / rearend / transfercase.

I would be willing to buy the whole car of course.
