I wouldn't go smaller than 18x9.5 on your car.

And they're gone. Next up will be a set of 05-08 forester stock 8 spoke alloy rims soon as I can get some decent tires on them.

Get a set of cheap spacers for $100. You'd be surprised at how great stock wheels look once they sit flush.

I heard from subie owners that spacers aren't the greatest. stocks do look pretty good but offset is not the best

I ran 1 inch spacers on my old wrx for ~1+ year and I have many friends currently running spacers without issues. A wheel bearings life is like 150k+ miles these days. I wouldn't worry too much about running spacers.
