11 second '05 Wagon Part-out and Sale!

Actually doesn't take much to make an 11 second WRX - So this is a small partout. Decided I need something 100% more Bavarian for a daily. Something I won't want to constantly modify..

This is an early announcement and the car is currently being stripped back to near stock condition.. More details and pics to follow as I get everything prepped. - Also subject to possible cold feet.

The car itself will either be traded in or sold.. If you'd like to purchase the car with more of the parts still with it - PM me early..

Car itself is a 2005 WRB Sportwagon.
Currently has 48k miles on the clock.

Pictures Here

History / full disclosure:

It has been running e85 for the last 18k miles or so. I am the second Owner and purchased it with 24k miles on the clock 2 years ago. Car was self tuned (I am a former pro tuner) partially on the road - partially on the dyno. Airboy numbers at their peak were mid 380 whp range. Ran a total of 4 passes at the track total ever.. All were near 12 flats and one scraped 11 between 118-119mph.. (Pre exploded gearset - was launching soft / easy)

The original 5mt blew. Rebuilt with new OEM gears.. Then rebuilt again with MFactory close ratio gears.. Will be swapping the OEM gears back in.. The OEM gears (from the first rebuild) have about 1,100 miles on them.

I will also be swapping back in an OEM clutch and flywheel.

The car will basically be returned to stock for sale. (depending on what parts do or don't sell that I need OEM replacements for)

As for price - I already have trade in offers around 13k - Given the vehicle's "history" and full disclosure I'd start entertaining offers above that trade in value.. Would rather see it go to an enthusiast - I could swap everything back to stock and sell for more w/o "history" - but I don't operate that way / don't feel comfortable selling anything without full disclosure.. I've been screwed over a number of times..

Cosmetically it isn't too bad. Has it's share of rock chips.. A couple of small dings. Some scrapes on the bumper cover at the extreme bottom corners. The rubber around the windshield shows a bit of cracking from the sun (it sat for a long time on some lot).

Tires are nearly new Goodyear Eagle GT's.. Decent all seasons..

Not a complete list - Will add more details later / pics.

Is the perrin inlet 2.4" or 3"? If its 2.4" I will take it and the group N tranny mount. I am located south of Stockton for pickup.

Perrin is a 2.4" and is blue.

More pictures of the box in it's build thread here:

I am going to measure the box a bit tonight.. I cut the top of the box to fit rather snug around that 10. So if you have a sub that runs a bit wide up top you might have to run a router around the lid and open it up a bit - the mounting ring is a good few inches wider than the top opening.

The underside of the enclosure is just un-finished fiberglass.. It is made out of 3/4 MDF and layers of fiberglass cloth and 1/5 oz mat.... Its solid..

I believe there is a bit over 6" of mounting depth available.
Measuring from the mouting ring - there is more than 1" of excursion room before the cargo lid would interfere..

Current volume was .78 cu ft.. And there is a bit of polyfill stuffed in it. Maybe 3/4 lb..(obviously you can remove the fill - or add solid ballast to reduce volume if needed).

Nice build. I did something similar with a JL 10", but I like the carpet(?) surface finish -- nice touch.

Just black felt. Easy to pull over shapes.. Since there is a cargo cover over the box it didn't really need to be heavy carpet.

Yep. Stock w/ tgv's untouched..

Basic intake / exhaust turbo and a tune for e85 w/ larger injectors and pump..

3" maf also required. And a maf hack to get around the 16bit ecu's airflow limit.

* An engine's survival rate is mostly in the tune and fuel. Run a good fuel with a safe tune that avoids excessively high cylinder pressures and knock and they hold up pretty well.. My main concern on this block was heads lifting and blowing a head gasket due to rather high boost levels (~27 psi).. It held together nicely and still runs flawlessly.. I will be pulling and swapping the plugs and running a compression test to verify.

E85 ftw. As long as you aren't knocking - and you aren't pushing the timing too far - well and your heads don't lift..
