New to subarus and the sports car world
Hey all, im jon. Fresh over from the 4x4 world. I recently totaled my wheeler so i decided to find a nice subi. Awd- i had to make an easy transition from 4x4. I have a competely stock 07 sti with 57k on the clock. It has a dealership installed stp intake. Ive been reading alot of bad things about them. A main problem is psi spikes. I dont really notice any but its my first turbo car. I have a few questions conserning this car.
-I know about the ringland problem, is there anything major i can do to prevent it? I hear its inevitable.
-Should i replace the stp intake? If so, with what?
Also im looking for a recommended tune shop around the las vegas area. I know of a few but none that specialize in these sensative cars. I hear eq is amaZing but very far away. About 8 1/2 hours for me. Is it worth the drive or is there a closer tune shop?

Well Welcome to the club.
I think the biggest hing to know about your 07STI is its fine the way it is.
There is no ticking time bomb under the hood just maintain it properly.
These cars are not sensitive when left stock. The ECU does not take lightly to bolt on parts however, so dont just throw parts on it. Figure out what if any performance parts you want through research on the forums, then have them installed and tune for it immeadiately.
Good luck and welcome to the suburu world.
