welcome Danielle , I was in a similar situation that you're in right now deciding between a STi and a EVO. I test drove both went through the spec sheets and still couldn't decide. but then it plain and simply came down to which one I WANTED more and that was the suby. Haven't looked back since and couldn't be happier with the decision!

the main reasons for me choosing the Suby was the boxer engine of course, better transmission, reliability, looks better than a EVO IMO, and the community in general is a better one. Norcalevo has many more douches then I-club haha. anyways have fun with which ever one u get and we'll see ya at the meets!

yeah my friend is addicted to that nor cal evo site, I used to go to those meets, most the guys I met there are pretty cool, and around my age but sum of them are a little stuck up, they think their the ish because they have a evo but yet they still live in their moms basement or have their parents paying for everything, kinda funny but I guess you'll probably find ppl like that anywhere u go really.(nothing against anyone they were all nice guys really)
I'd rather have sumone that knows what they want and goes after it, but thats a whole other story there lol. So anyways, we do have a subaru dealership here in Livermore but they don't have much of selection besides foresters and the 08 wagons, those did grow on me a little, once I saw a pretty clean grey one in d sport this month. But I think I should probably get the new ride before coming out to visit and bs with u guys huh so best bet to find a good deal would probably b craigslist huh?

But yeah, i love things that make my heart race, but i get stopped alot by cops...so maybe i should get sumthing low key, im pretty good at getting the nicer cops to let me off the hook most times, my average lately is one or maybe two tickets a year but ive gotten a lil better at slowing down lately.

im incredibly bored rite now toooooo...maybe i should just start a project...even thou u kinda need garage space to do that so im sh** outta luck with that...and i dont even know what i would start with for my first project car...i kinda have a soft spot for the old school "rat rod" primer paint and 50s style looks...but i have a long list of things i want to try when i get space and borrow tools and a manly man to help lol.

Im in the same boat as you...I had a 2002 WRX sold that for a Nissan Murano...Sold the Murano and am seaching for a 2004-2005 STI...

If you see (2) good deals at a Dealer PM, maybe we can get a better deal!


PS: I have been searching for 2 months, its tough trying to find the "perfect" STI

 

i got a load of projects to..im also working on a 04 STI for my dad as a late fathers day present he has always wanted an STI his 1990 Subaru Legacy finally died after 300k miles :O

yeah ill let u know if i find anything good, the dealership i work at isnt getting in many subarus or cars like that, we're buying and selling all those gas savers, aveos,ford focuses and such...but im the same way...its hard to find the "perfect" used vehicle, i just dont want one that the previous owner didnt maintain and drove it all hard and to the ground ya know. i found one a few weeks back and thank God i did a carfax before even wasting my time doing any price negotiations, it was stolen once and had the miles wrong on it...crazy ish that i didnt want to even deal with...so its back to looking at cg for now..
