Hi Friends,

I'm new to Subarus. I purchased a white 98 Legacy Wagon (2.2L) last week. It's in great condition with under 100k miles. Engine, interior and exterior are pristine. It already sounds so good, but I have around 300-500 bucks to spend on upgrading the exhaust. I'm not looking for improved performance, just sound. Do I just get a tip, or? What brand? I don't want to mess too much with welding, etc.

Any advice?

Also, I'd love to upgrade from the stock steel wheels to something a little more sporty. I love retro looking rims (bbs, etc.). But am open to advice! Again, budget is around 500-600 bucks.

With a budget like that for rims, you should check out tirerack.com. They can show you what they MIGHT look like on your car as well.

For the exhaust, I'd hold out until you have a little more you can budget towards it.

 

Thanks for your response! I'm getting a lot of suggestions to just get a muffler put on it. Would you agree, or? How much would you suggest I spend?
