Its been six LONG years in the making . . .
Its been six LONG years in the making . . .

After six years of waiting . . . sometimes patiently, most of the time extremely impatiently, one of the greatest gifts in my life has come to me – my now turbo-ed 2003 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS. It was with a lot of my hard work and money, amazing parents, Broken Motorsports, and a lot of my fellow Long Island Subaru Club members that this gift was able to come about. So without any further delay, allow me to personally thank the many people in my life that made this all happen.
Broken Motorsports:

I first met Billy at the annual Tri-State Drive last year. My thoughts were two fold: He’s nuts and . . . well, he’s nuts. Two hours in the woods and two popped tires later, I was not having good impressions of this guy. But it would only be a matter of time before my opinions would change and our paths would collided once again. This time, it was to work together to produce both an amazing machine and a work of art.
Billy and Vince of Broken Motorsports are two of the most stand up guys I know in the automotive world. Even before I sent them the car, they were helping me solve my mechanical problems and really trying to help me get the the swap done myself.
But when I couldn’t get the motor out (yes, after seven tries lol), Billy and Vince were ready to work out all the kinks and “Get ‘er done.” They took an inventory of all my stock and aftermarket parts, and advised me on what parts I needed or should get. But it doesn’t end there.
Both Billy, Vince, and Zephyr as well, were all extremely diligent with the work they had to do. This team knows how to work hard and efficiently. Billy promised me back the car in 7 days, and had I given him all the parts he needed and he not run into mechanical problems with the motor, I would have received it in that time. But that’s the nature of all swaps. My point is this, Billy did not let the car leave his shop as a “finished product,” until everything was in working order and up to his standards. No matter what the problem was, it didn’t leave his sight until it was fixed.
Dave Brown of Metric Subaru:
Everyone from the Long Island Subaru Club does (or really should) go to Dave Brown and his staff at Metric for all things Subaru. Whether its buying a car, ordering parts, or getting advice, Dave Brown and Metric Subaru are the people to go to.
I spent a lot of time on the phone with Dave Brown, and its safe to say that every conversation with him was both informative and helpful. Dave doesn’t know me nearly as well as some of the older members from this forum, but regardless of that fact, he was still respectful and helpful no matter what my question or problem was. Like many of you, he was itching to see this project get done, and so the advice never stopped coming as to what to buy, where to go to get the swap done, and how to end up with a true beast.
The Long Island Subaru Club:
The last, “Thank You” (besides the parents and all that jazz) goes to all of the Members of the Long Island Subaru Club. To this day, I still can’t remember how exactly I discovered this site, but I don’t regret it for one minute. Quite the contrary, I wish I were involved with the club earlier on so that, just maybe, I would have a greater working knowledge of cars. Like most of you, I was into cars before I knew what they were capable of becoming. I am therefore so grateful that I have a group of enthusiasts to share my passion with and keep it alive. Because of this club, my passion for cars will not die . . . it will only get stronger.
. . . it’s been an awesome ride so far, and I know its only going to get better.
