Intake or not???

I bought AEM long cold air intake for my 05 WRX. My friends said that I shouldn't do it because Subarus don't like intakes, unless it's stock or short ram such us Perrin or SPT. They said that I loose power with that intake. Is that true, should I get back to stock one. Please help

the stock airbox is good up to 300hp they say

get the spt one.

when i double it up with the exhaust i pulled an extra 10whp

the spt sounds nice and it does let the engine breathe easier

plus you can use it with the ap maps

also yo may want to search the forum for the "great intake debate"

Stock intake is the best thing until you put in a monster turbo.

But if you do decide to put in the Intake, get it protuned.

God this thread has so many "Failed" replies. Spt intake is junk and don't install a short ram without a heat shield unless you want the intake temps to jump. Do some more research on Cold Airs. The 65mm Aps Cold Air is GREAT. The Cobb short ram blows.

I know my experience was when I put on even my short ram K&N with my APV2 it messed with my tune and didnt run right, but it sounded Cool. Now the K&N sits in my garage and I have the stocker on. I am pushing 270ft lbs and 220 hp on the stocker.

Yes any short ram is good for fmic users otherwise short rams sucks ballz with tmic's. Of course Spt failed to realize that attaching to coolant lines to a metal intake would add more heat. Plus the 06/07's can't handle a spt intake straight out of the dealer unless you want to replace the motor shortly after.

Of course thats with other mods, the intake alone didn't produce those numbers.
