I'm New and I got a question??

Hi to first introduce myself, my name is Steven. I'm from the bay area, I just recently got myself a car, 2005 STI. My first question is how can I check my headlights to see if they are HID or just bright white bulbs?? I have been told both.... I start my car and turn the lights on and it starts of bright and then as it warms up it gets brighter.... which I thought were what HID does but my friend still claims that its just bright white bulbs...... please help me understand how I can tell the difference???

STi should all have HIDS I believe just cuz there more white doesnt mean anything. there jst like stock HIDs which usually are around 4300k. like Scooby Son said Lows are HID Highs should me normal. but if you really want to check look for the ballast I believe they are under the headlights.

ballast should be behind the head light assembly

or the bulb should be really skinny

welcome aboard!!
