I'm looking for a 2002 WRX PLEASE HELP

I want to know what to look at when looking for the car and what to check on when I drive it and what to watch out for. Please help because it's hard to know because I'm new to the Subaru world and the world of turbo.

Welcome

Depending on mileage make sure the timing belt water pump etc have been done.
-Shows maintenance records
-All the fluids etc

Has the clutch been replaced or not
-These cars can go a LONG ways with the stock clutch, I'm at 75K with 251whp no issues with clutch, FlukeWrx is at 199K with a tune from EQ and still is on the stock clutch!!!

If you want a bone stock car
-Check if the turboheatshield has been removed or not
-Checked for any nipped off vacuum and boost lines

Subaru Paint sucks
-Check the wing if its clear coat is peeling
-Hoodscoop also
-Any rust under the paint?

When driving
-No grinding from 1st to 2nd
-These 5 speeds do like to grind when putting it into first gear while rolling
-Any clunking?
-At full lock either way any shimming or grinding noises (axles may be bad)
-Any smells?

This is all I can think of atm.

Welcome, Heedz gave some good advise! If you are unsure I would say take it to a mechanic you trust for an inspection.

Per Heedz, timing belt IS the most important question there, since it is one of the most costly and most important maintenance items.

This should take care of everything if you don't mind a wagon. If I didn't already have one, this would be mine.
