Default Rear Defogger off after 15 min - can I fix?
Hi - I'm the proud owner of an 2013 Impreza, and I love it, and I hope to keep it at least as long as my last car ('95 Corolla).
One annoying thing though - Here in New England snow and rain storms often last more than 15 minutes, so I'm driving down the road a bit and notice my rear window has become opaque because the *&@% defogger shut itself off! I'm told this helped them meet their MPG (by reducing energy usage) but it's a safety hazard.
I have a 2.0 premium, which doesn't have automatic climate control, so I can't "program" it for continuous. I asked my dealer, and he said "can't do it with your car". The premium is the most common model, so it seems odd that this fix is unavailable to us.
I'd be willing to pay to fix this (so it's a simple on/off switch). Am I SOL? Would it pay to complain to Subaru?
Thanks!
