dazed and confused

I am in the proses of buying a car in the next 2 days I am looking at an 05 sti and 04 vw r32.Now here is the problem I only can afford one car,my heart tells me to go for the sti,but my gut tells me to go for the vw.I have always wanted a subaru impreza since 1992 (and a skyline but those jerks next year are going to charge 80 90 grand for the car).Anyway the only problem I have with the sti that it is a four cylinder, and you see them allot in nyc ,the vw r32 you never see. What I am trying to get at is should I go with my heart or my gut.(I tried to join an r32 club but for some reason I am not special enough to join there forum)

I think the opinions on this board may be a bit bias. What is it that your gut tells you about the R32. Ever driven an AWD car with a 2.5L Turbo charged Boxer engine? Make sure you come back to post pics of your STi after you buy it.

o wells just sit inside an STi and turn the key, gauges sweeps on, turn on car, and report back that the way is clear and you are a proud suby owner

Maintenance will be cheaper with a subie. and as stated above turbo flat 4 paired with AWD is awesome. You'll have more fun in all the seasons especially your snowy NY winters.

If you always wanted a Subaru by all means just go with it. That`s a cool Led Zep song by the way.

R32 is a VR6, non turbo

its not really AWD. its a FWD car with minimal assist from the rear drivetrain

they are slow and heavy

they have a nice dash tho. Get the VW if you want something that looks pretty on the inside and you don't care about performance

VW makes a very nice car
Subaru makes a nicer car

I recommend test driving both and just make the decision and go with it, your the one making the payments so make sure your paying for something you want and will make you happy.

Fixed it for ya. I've driven VW's, I got a Subie. The interior is nicer on the VW, but everything else is pretty lame. The pickup is weak, it torque steers like a ****, and VW's are notorious for electrical problems. But then again, the VW does have blue gauges, so I guess it's a tossup.
