bought a built 02 dont know what i got into
Hi just joined because I bought a 2002 WRX on Friday. I don't know anything about imports and domestic knowledge is limited to more classic cars. I'm just gonna repeat what the ad said. Have got receipts for engine work but not the STi RA gear set which I'm still slightly worried about. anyways here it goes
Built 04 2.5 RS
JE Pistons
ACL Main and Rod Bearings
H-Beam Rods
STi Injectors
Forged Internals
VF39 turbo
Has Pioneer touchscreen head unit
JBL tweeters and speakers up front, speakers in back and 12" sub with 1200w amp in the trunk
don't know if I should start another post but I had to jump start it today. it has an optima redtop and had only been sitting for an hour. I don't know about aftermarket stereos either so need to learn a lot fast. Any info is greatly appreciated.

If it won't start but it will jump, it's either the battery or the alternator (or both).
How old is the battery?
There could be a power drain, but I don't think it would be something that can kill everything in a hour. I've left my electrics on for over an hour and the car still started.
Maybe take it to a mechanic? I think Snail Performance is a good shop in Arizona.
Being in Arizona, I don't know how much help you'll really find here (i-club). Most of the people here are in California or Hawaii. Most of us don't know what's going on in Arizona. I'd suggest NASIOC, they may be *******s over there, but you'll most likely find helpful local members.

So...what's your question? I'm leaning towards you bought the car, do not know the history behind it. Your trying to ask will it last?

OP, are you sure its not a swap? In terms of a solid high HP build, YES, those parts are a common choice for many Subaru builders. BUT, not many throw those parts and try to achieve that much HP on thoes blocks. sketchy. an EJ257 STi block or even a WRX block i see being fine. But and RS??
