Hey guys I'm in the process of buying an 05 wrx. My goal is 2 put it close 2 500 HP over the course of a few years in stages. Stage one would be take off the intake silencer, HKS BOV, HKS full exhaust system(unsure about which uppipe 2 use I heard the HKS n helix uppipe don't flex as much as u need I heard the sti uppipe was quality) Cobb access port V2 n maybe new plugs. I really want a nice big brembo kit wit a set of 18" advan TC2's(not sure if brembos will fit with those rims) [anyone know how much brembos cost?] and a really good suspension but not sure what I need. N morette projectors. Eventually I want 2 get the sti short block with CP pistons n a huge turbo kit I like the GT35R but I heard that goes up 2 like 60 (not sure which turbo yet) want that real loud turbo sound like a supra. Just wondering if I'm missing anything. This is going 2 be my first subie n I'm coming off a 02 civic si so its a huge step in uncharted territories for me. Also looking 4 low cost quality mods. Any info would be good. Thanks guys

well if you want 500 hp then you should go and buy and sti......... they come with brembos stock.
I have a 05 wrx and let me tell you if you want 500 hp out of this car you will have to replace everthing motor,tranny etc....

 

demon's right but STI's aren't in everyone's budget. but if you got the cash you should get it. i would get an STI if i could start all over again.

I was looking at an 04 sti for about $26,000 with 75,000 km on it black on blue nice ride but the insurance was double then the wrx about $1,250 a month with my record little 2 much the wrx is about $600. So on the wrx after all those minor mods if I throw in an sti short block with cp pistons, straight cut dogbox 5sp tranny. What would I need 2 do to the heads and what type of turbo 2 put it close 2 500 HP? What are some good mods 2 start with and what are some big power mods? I got a 5g budget 2 start with what's the best mod for my buck (please list prices if you can) thanks guys. Josh

if you want 500hp this will not happen with a wrx.... u are gonna need a sti engine, sti drive train, new difs and a lot of mods. You will save thousands in the long run if you just get a STI.

 

So what's the max whp u can pump out of an 05 wrx for like 10gs

 

I've wondering how much I should pay for quality brakes and suspension for street and track use?
