swapping auto for 5 spd

I think Andrew (Kaos) on the real Subaru BB posted some details on his swap. He is doing the same thing to his auto WRX.

Basically the transmission (transaxle) FWD ratios are different so in addition to the tranny swap, you gotta swap the rear diff, and as the auto tranny Subbies use a an electronically controlled clutch in place of the viscous coupling centre diff, you should swap that as well.

Fo normal (in traffic) driving an Auto tranny Subbie is best. As long as yours isn't slipping, or otherwise on the verge of failure, I think your best bet is to leave it be.

If you really MUST have a 5 speed, you are probably best advised to purchase a second subbie with the 5 speed.
