Might be moving to Chicago
Had a job interview in Lake Forest today and it looks pretty hopeful. Anyways I was wondering what some of the department of transportation laws are out in there in Illinois. Tint, emissions, things like that. I currently live in california and they are strict about tint and emissions. Anyways, and are there and groups/outings/meets going on in the Chicago area?

funny, i'm 19 and want to move to san fran. after college and your coming to chicago. anyways welcome to chicago if all goes well with the job. usually there are meets at streets of woodfield in schaumburg. there are also meets i hear in rockford. as to what kind of laws we have in chicago. i think they are less strict than in cal and also our emissions and gas prices aren't like yours, although lately they have been. they will drop in sept. i heard so many different stories as to what tints you can have and what is legal and illegal in illinois. just ask around.

Tintwise- I understand there is no tint on the front windshield and the left and right windows in the front. Emmisions are not as strict and we get 93octane here.
There are regular weekly meettings in schaumburg called "Borders Meets" We occupy a parking lot next to the Borders book store. We do this every thursday, and get about 30+ Subies every time during the summertime.
Anyway, Hope you get the job and like your stay here in the midwest. The Borders bunch is mostly very active on the www.impreza.net MWIC Forum, check it out.
