My buddy got his car inpounded today at Dulles air port. Was his crime leaving his car un-atended? Did he double park? Did he speed? Was he drunk?

Nope,.. he was droping off a friend at the airport. His crime? His state registration is 1 month overdue. Here is what he told me on AIM:

[16:21] Buddy: Are any of your tags expired?
[16:22] Buddy: I can tell you right now not to go to Dulles airport
[16:22] Buddy: My car was just impounded.

[16:22] Me: fawk!

[16:24] Buddy: It's at Dulles airport in the Metro Airport Police's impound yard
[16:24] Buddy: The cop was such a huge dick to me
[16:24] Buddy: He FLIPPED when he saw my old CA ID
[16:25] Buddy: He was like "WHY DO YOU HAVE THAT AND HOW DID YOU GET A VA LIC!?"
[16:25] Buddy: He took it was was like "THIS SIR, IS ILELGAL!"
[16:25] Buddy: He was just flabergasted taht I had it

[16:25] Me: thats bull****.

[16:28] Me: im still confused how it went down.
[16:30] Buddy: Ok... So I was dropping off a co-worker
[16:31] Buddy: And as I pulled up he ran over and stopped me

[16:31] Me: k

[16:31] Buddy: And went off on how my tags are expired, etc

[16:31] Me: thats MESSED!

[16:31] Buddy: Then he said "AND SIR JUST SO YOU KNOW, I AM GOING TO IMPOUND YOUR VEHICLE"
[16:31] Buddy: So I cleaned it out.. put all my **** on the curb there at door #2
[16:32] Buddy: and started calling people to come get me.. he explained in a$$hole detail why he could tow it
[16:32] Buddy: He says "SIR I CAN NOT TELL IF THIS CAR IS ROADWORTHY" and I gave him a look like "Gimme a f'ing break"
[16:32] Buddy: And then he was like "WELL THE LAW SAYS THAT IF THE DATES ARE EXPIRED THE CAR IS MINE MR. XXXXXXX"
[16:33] Buddy: Then he goes YOUR INSURANCE IS EXPIRED (This is before he had seen my card)
[16:33] Buddy: I said "Really, I don't ahve an insurance sticker... nor are they issued in the Commonwealth Of VA"
[16:34] Buddy: "But I do have a card issued to me by State Farm Insurance"
[16:34] Buddy: He said "Well your insurance is ok"
[16:36] Buddy: So it's $50 to get it out of impound tomorrow after I go get my registration and tags

Good thing pig's at dulles are spending their time on the lookout for expired registration and towing cars. This makes me feel MUCH safer about flying.
