I'm also planning on leaving very early for Mt Hammy just to avoid a large caravan. Round trip, I expect to exceed 30 miles per gallon with the cruise control set for 70 mph.
lowball, do you need a (literally one) hand with that oil line? Does that mean you have to pull the uppipe again?

Kevin, we're not going to have 50-75 cars. It's just the local Sac group. Maybe 10 of us. I think we planned on going straight to Hammy, not hitting the D&B in Milpitas. I don't want that attention either.
As for the road in, this is the only way I know to go to Hammy other than going through Alum Rock (and lovely East San Jose - roll the windows up now!). I used to live on Capitol Expy and would go mountain biking at Grant Ranch every weekend. I'm assuming that's where the picnic is. If someone has another way in, let me know.
I've never been on Mines and would avoid it this time just because I don't know the road or how long it will take.
So, getting back to the planning, what time do you guys want to leave? Does meeting out at Truxel sound good to everyone?
We're probably looking at:
Me
Matt
Lance
Alan (bemani)
Aaron
Nick
Josh
Anyone else?

i was just watching FIA European Drag Racing. it was wierd. the cars were the same as American drag racing, just a little older. The drivers had european accents instead of hick accents. the times were slower too.

This may also be true. I'll have to see if I want to tackle it mid week once the line shows up.
I'm down for the Hammy trip for the Sac guys.
What time are people looking to take off?
Have to drop the wife off at SIA 1st thing in the morning...like 8:00 drop off time.

It starts at 11:30am, so we should probably leave around 9:00am. It's 2 hours to the 680-101 interchange at 75-80mph with no traffic. That gives us a 1/2 hour to get thorugh town and to Grant Park.
So I say meet at Truxel between 8:30 and 8:45 with a departure time of 9:00am sharp. If you're not there you can try and catch up.
