Bummer! I needed a valve adjustment at 77K and did the timing belt then because I was already paying the labor. Less than 20K miles later I get to do the belt again!
So now I'm trying to find a way to either go with a new short block or rebuild mine since it's coming out of the car anyway. I don't want to do all I'm doing and then have to deal with ringland failure in the near future.
So while my car is in pieces at the shop, I'm driving a beater 95 Tercel that I had bought for my daughter to drive. 200K miles on it and it keeps going and going and going.... I'm thinking of donating it to Subaru so they can reverse engineer it. Maybe they can learn a thing or two about longevity?
