who's going to the NASA HPDE @ Infineon sept. 11-12?
it's going to be my first track day. I'll be there with my Crystal Gray STi.
i'm thinking of doing brake pads and lines before I go. any tips from people who have run with NASA or any track event really?

How about...
coming out to Infineon later on today? I'm trying to get Pleiad7 to enter her Forester into the bracket racing 1/4 mile just to get some time slips and to figure out just how fast that thing is, but she'd like to have some people to cheer her on.
Come on guys!!

EVERYONE should be going. This is THE event of the year for NASA with even a 'preview' track time option for a nominal fee - though space is limited. I will be there Sunday most likely. I had planned to be there all weekend as well as work safety, cook food as usual however I am on the other side of the planet right now and get home 11pm Friday night. So getting up and going @4am as well as being competent on the track is not gonna work on Saturday.
I will be there in a yellow old Celica coupe #57.
NOTE - yes, bring tape but DO NOT use regular hardware store duct tape as you will play hell getting it off your car after a day in the sun. You can usually pick up some 'racer's tape' at the track from the tire shop for 6 bux. I still have a roll of black people can scam on, however I won't be there till Sunday.
Everyone should get out there and see what it's like. I have sworn to not track my WRX and now am trying to sell it, so yeah - Celica it is.
If this is your first event and you don't plan on crashing, you should be fine with stock lines, pads, everything. Take it easy, take it slow. Learn the lines before you try to be fast. IMHO lesser gear will keep you safe as you learn, however an STi is already competent enough to be hard to learn in. BE SAFE! I always feel like a winner when I drive my car home under it's own power.

They should be able to tech you at the track, that's where I get it done. Someone pipe up if that's not the case. Last time at Laguna they were doing tech at the sign-in station. Just ask when you roll up. Remember you need a NASA membership (you can do it online) and it's $10 a person to enter the track.

I will be out there on Saturday working on the safety truck. I would have done this event but the Hectic Schedule and limited track time discouraged me from driving in this event.
